I just wrote this in a comment to milady's post. And it's so damn good, I want to remember it.

And don't quit writing the descriptions of each gesture...that's what editing is for! Write everything you think you want to get down, then when you've finished the novel, go through and edit yourself, cutting out the bits you don't think are necessary. That way you'll be sure to capture the beauty, even if you have to meticulously cut the stone to get to the diamond. ^_^
